STATEMENT OF HISTORY
Teamwork, L.L.C. Allied Health Academy was founded in November 1997 by Patricia Wenzel, C.D.A. Our first dental assisting class began on 2/2/98. Mrs. Wenzel has been a Dental Assistant since 1981 and a Dental Assisting Instructor / Department Head since 1989. She has extensive experience in Dental Assisting curriculum design and revision. The Academy began at 22 Salem Marketplace, Salem, CT. Due to increased enrollment, in October 1998 we expanded our facility by relocating to 11 Centre Street, Suite 8, Salem, CT. In response to numerous inquiries from potential students, we expanded our academy curriculum to include a program in Medical Assisting.
MISSION
Teamwork, L.L.C.'s goal to provide allied health education that is the preferred source of education in the community. The Academy strives to provide quality education that is second to none which in turn will produce competent graduates who can succeed in an ever-changing society.
We provide a well-balanced curriculum in an environment that is conducive to learning. Instruction is delivered by a highly qualified staff with a commitment to excellence. The Academy takes pride in assisting students in the achievement of their success.
ACADEMY FACILITIES
Teamwork, L.L.C. is conveniently located off of Rt. 82 near the intersection of Routes 85 and 82 in Salem, Connecticut. We are an easy commute from the Hartford, Middletown, Willimantic, Norwich, Danielson, Plainfield, New London, Groton, Mystic, Westerly, and shoreline areas.
We have a beautiful 6,000 square foot facility in a modern air conditioned office building. Our academy consists of: modern lecture halls, a modern dental clinical lab with four fully equipped and operational dental operatories, a central sterilization area, a modern computer lab with highspeed Internet access, a modern medical assisting lab classroom, a student library, a student lounge / relaxation area, men's and women’s restrooms, a faculty lounge, and private offices for the Director, Admissions Director, and medical faculty. We also have a beautiful 2,300 SF Spa that is located in a separate building and is open to the Public. Please see our Spa page for more information.
Students may bring their own lunches or opt to buy lunches at a variety of local eateries. Paved, well lit parking facilities are provided in front of the building.
