Medical Assisting
Due to the fact that the Medical Office Assistant has clinical and administrative skills, these graduates have the most marketable skills in the medical assisting field. Training includes but is not limited to: Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Billing and Coding, Scheduling, Medical Transcription, Phlebotomy, EKG's, Urinalysis, Medical Terminology and Medical Ethics and Law. In addition, each student spends a minimum of 270 hours of actual hands-on experience in local medical offices. This program will have class starts in January, May, and September of each year. Class size is limited to 14.
Although there is no certification requirements in Connecticut for Medical Assistants, our students are approved to sit for a variety of national certification exams offered by the National Health Career Association (NHA).
Program Length: 45 weeks (1195 Hours)
